Christmas Quote

Okay, so this isn't exactly a quote about Christmas.  It's a song from White Christmas.  I always get this song stuck in my head for days after watching the movie.

Snow
It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow
Snow
I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow

Snow
I long to clear a path and lift a spade of snow
Snow
Oh, to see a great big man entirely made of snow

Where it's snowing
All winter through
That's where I want to be
Snowball throwing
That's what I'll do
How I'm longing to ski
Through the snow-oh-oh-oh-oh

Those glist'ning houses that seem to be built of snow
Snow
Oh, to see a mountain covered with a quilt of snow

What is Christmas with no snow
No white Christmas with no snow
Snow

I'll soon be there with snow
I'll wash my hair with snow
And with a spade of snow
I'll build a man that's made of snow
I'd love to stay up with you but I recommend a little shuteye
Go to sleep
And dream
Of snow

Christmas Quote

You might notice that I did another quote last week from Miracle on 34th Street, but this one is from the 1947 version so it makes it okay... right?

Fred Gailey: Your Honor, every one of these letters is addressed to Santa Claus. The Post Office has delivered them. Therefore the Post Office Department, a branch of the Federal Government, recognizes this man Kris Kringle to be the one and only Santa Claus.

Judge Harper: Uh, since the United States Government declares this man to be Santa Claus, this court will not dispute it. Case dismissed.

Christmas Quote

"First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat an entire roll of Toll House cookie dough as fast as we can, and then to finish, we'll snuggle!"
- Elf

To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of this movie until this year.  Maybe it's grown on me? I'm not sure but I'll take my new found liking for Elf.

Christmas Quote

Rudolph: What do you want?
Clarice: You promised to walk me home.
Rudolph: Aren't you going to laugh at my nose too?
Clarice: I think it's a handsome nose. Much better than that false one you were wearing.
Rudolph: It's terrible... and different from everybody else's!
Clarice: But that's what makes it so grand. Why, any doe would be lucky to know someone with a nose like that.
Rudolph: Yeah? But I wasn't very lucky today, was I?

Christmas Quote

 "I shall never forget you.
And in all my troubles past
and all my troubles yet to come,
I'll never find a better friend."
-Kris Kringle

This is one of my all-time favorite quotes.  It sums up what true friendship really is, plus it is from a darling movie that I adore.  I know that I've mentioned this before, but I really do watch this movie every, single Thanksgiving and then about ten more times before Christmas.

In the mood for fall

Tonight, I fell in the mood for fall.  Fall, it is my favorite season with the cooler temperatures and pretty color leaves everywhere.  If it would stay around 50 to 60 degrees all year round I would be one happy girl (maybe I should move some place where that is actually possible, instead of Missouri!).  I don't like the idea of wearing shorts and t-shirts, that's not comfortable.  Comfortable is wearing sweater, a jacket, boots, jeans.  That's what makes me smile.  Plus in the fall I barely run my AC, which means lower utility bills ($$)!

Okay, well back onto why I am now in the mood for fall... I watched an all time favorite movie tonight.  Miracle on 34th Street.  I have both versions, the black and white one, and also the colored one made in the 90's.  I guests you can say that I love this movie.  Every year on Thanksgiving my family and I will crowd around our TV and watch both movies in a row  Of course we start with the oldest one and finish up with comparing the two; which parts we like better, which parts we don't like at all, and which actor/actress is better.  After I watch this movie at Thanksgiving I'm ready for Christmas; trust me I'm not that bad and ready for Christmas already.  But it did put me in the mood for fall.  Now, I am ready to decorate and wear sweaters.  The weather isn't helping this mood at all, it was a cool 65 when I woke up this morning - perfect!

Found here.
I have decided that within the next few weeks, I will be decorating for fall.  I don't have too many decorations, so you better believe I will be buying some.
