Maid of Honor

I can't really believe that I have friends getting married and starting families yet. I just don't feel that I'm at that place and life, while I adore my boyfriend marriage is a long way off. However, I do have a couple friends from high school and college that are tying the knot and I'm happy for them and can't wait to celebrate.

One of my best friends from high school is getting married at the end of April and I am her Maid of Honor. I have to admit that I am pretty excited about this task, however I am totally freaked out about it too. I've never been in a wedding, let alone Maid of Honor. I've looked up my duties on many different websites, but I'm afraid that I'm going to forget something. Knowing my luck it will be something huge!

I've been planning a bridal shower and it's coming along. I have some games planned (bingo, dress designer, couple's quiz, etc...), decorations (I'm renting table linens, ordering flowers for table decorations, going to have pictures of the couple around), and the food... well that's a different situation. I'm not sure about food, I have vegetable and fruit trays planned, chips/crackers with dip and cheese balls, but I feel like there should be something else. The venue does not have refrigeration or a place to heat food - I can bring ice chests and put in a different room to keep things cold, but I don't know what food that would include. Since the shower is from 2:00 - 4:30p.m. I'm not sure what's expected.

If anyone has suggestions for food to prepare ...please please let me know! I would be so appreciative.
