So, May marked my 5 year reunion from Poplar Bluff High School. It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since graduation and that it's been almost 5 years since I've seen the majority of people I went to school with. I received the invitation in the mail today, I'm not sure what to expect because the invite is a little vague. Just states that it will be at the local Elks Lodge (yes, I am from a small town) from 7pm to 12pm (yes, I realize that it should be 12am to represent midnight, but that's how they typed it). It's $15 a person, no mention of dinner, drinks, appetizers or anything.
I cannot make up my mind on whether or not I want to go. It would be great to see a few people, but I really don't care either way to see most of the people I went to school with. The friends that I am still close to are planning on going and are trying hard to talk me into it. I will probably end up going, but I have a feeling that I will regret it the second I walk into that door; I'm so hoping that's not the case though.
From everyone that I've talked with who celebrated their 5 year mark from high school keeps telling me that this reunion will be similar to high school with everyone competing against one another. How does a night of everyone comparing their greatest accomplishment in the past 5 years sound like a good idea? I don't know.
I have to RSVP by July 9th, so I do have some time to think more about it. Mainly, how to be prepared for it.
