A few months ago, while visiting a flea market in downtown Springfield I came across a dining room chair. It is identical to the set my family had when I was growing up, except this one needed some TLC. It was only $5 and I couldn't pass it up. I have sanded it, picked out my new color, and all I have left to do is paint it. Sounds simple right? It should be, but I haven't been able to find the time. I have been out of town most weekends and get home late from work during the week. Basically, I have a thousand excuses as to why I have not pulled this out to the back patio and painted it... so, that ends this week. I will be painting it and maybe even adding a few finishing touches to make it more personalized.
Now, here comes the part that I need help with. Where to display this chair when completed. It was for my dining table, it's a hand-me-down from the 1960's and I loved the idea of having all differently painted chairs and styles around it. However, since the conception of this idea, my Grandma has graciously given me her formal dining room table that seats 6. How can I pass up a table like that? I just couldn't. See, right now I am renting a place while I finish my Master's and get on my feet... so I don't have a ton of room or money. A table like the one I am getting will be saving me hundreds in the future. ...back to the part of where to put the finished product. I just don't know. I have some space in my family room, but not much and I don't want to get the crowded look in there. I need some help. I will have to post pictures of not only the finished chair, but also of the space I can put it.
Also, I just realized my other dilemma, of where to put the 1960's table after the formal table is delivered in a few weeks. Oh no!
I cant wait to see what color you pciked for the chair, I love the idea for a table with various chair. Can you spray some thing on the chair to make it weather resistant and use it on a porch instead?
