DIY: picture frame transformation

Over the Labor Day weekend, while visiting family I just had to attend the annual 25 30 mile yard sale (it expanded over 5 more miles than the one from last year).  Unfortunately, I didn't find anything that I just couldn't live without and I couldn't find what I was looking for, which was a pretty large picture frame.  Every frame I saw was far too expensive and I couldnt' get anyone to come down, so I walked away from them (so hard for me to do, but I had a price point in my head and would not budge).

After we got home and told my parents what I was looking for, my Mom remembered one out in the garage from years ago.  I think the boy (who I had drug with me to the yard sale) was relieved when we found out that the frame was perfect and he wouldn't have to continue on the hunt.

It is the perfect size, just not the best color for what I have in mind.

Please disregard the poor photo/light quality. I got home close to dark, so had to take these inside. Have I mentioned how horrible the lighting is in the family room and kitchen?

Happy Sunday!
