I hear it's always best to come clean when you have a problem. Well, my problem is that...I have an addiction ...to fake flowers.
Whew! I feel better getting that off my chest.
On a side note with that addiction comes the realization that I am turning more and more into my Mother. Her addiction might be with greenery, but I have a feeling that a fake plant addiction is one in the same.

I always am on the look out for something pretty and cheap! When I stumbled upon these beauties over the past year, I couldn't resist. When there is a good sale or clearance event I just can't seem to say no.
These past few days I have been slowly decorating for fall, and I have had a plan to do it as inexpensively as possible. I've purchased a few items here and there (I am finally living on my own, out of college housing, and I don't have much in the way of decorations). After unpacking my fall decor I realized that I had an abundance of flowers. I mean really do you see the collection on the table below? That's really all I had in the way of decorations was flowers. I desperately needed some way to display them.

I had an idea to create a vase out of a pumpkin (plastic of course! I'm sure you can use a real pumpkin, but I wanted to
Second, arrange flowers in the pumpkin, for stability you can glue a piece of Styrofoam to the bottom. I did this on the smaller pumpkin, but not for the larger one. I like to put a lot of flowers, so I found that I don't necessarily need the foam piece.
Many, many flowers I have left and only the small pumpkin left to go. eek!
I broke down and found two more vases that I had in storage. I like the way the two four turned out. Just a bit tricky to find a place to put them all...
One went in the guest bathroom
One on my desk
At end table next to the couch
And one on my dining room table.
If you are thinking that my table is a bit empty - just wait. I will be getting a new, larger table this weekend and have more projects on the way to dress it up.
