Red and Green on the brain

Now that Halloween is over I should be focused on Thanksgiving, but instead my mind is wandering to December.  I L-O-V-E Christmas, more than any other holiday or time of year.  I usually decorate around the first of November too and this year will probably be no exception.  Christmas decorations are always so pretty, shiny (I love anything that sparkles!), and just, well they are perfect.

Bah Hum Bug Ornament

I was over on West Elm and stumbled upon this ornament.  Isn't it darling?  I think it's got that touch of humor with a whole lot of adorable wrapped up in one package.  The good news is that it's not expensive (only $8!), the bad news is that the majority of my ornaments and the Christmas theme I've been planning for this year is red and green.  Plus, my accent color is gold, not silver.  But I am really , really liking this ornament.

So, I have devised a plan.  I am going to recreate this ornament.  I will use my color scheme.  It doesn't look too contemplated, right?

I will let you know how it turns out, if it doesn't then you might see another post where I have purchased this one.

  1. I'm right there with you! When I was single, I once put up my (artificial) tree Nov 1st. Now, my husband (who grew up getting a real tree on Christmas eve) insists we wait until at least December before breaking out the decorations. He will be gone for a few weeks this month, though, so perhaps I'll surprise him when he comes home :):):)

Let us know how the project goes, I'm sure they'll look great!
