So, many do not know of the choice I made to get healthy. So far along this journey I have made great strides and know that there are many more to come. Also, I have discovered a few dressing tips and organizational ideas that I would like to share.
First up, the closet. In my opinion the closet is a major player in this process. It holds everything, literally.
Here are a few tips that I've learned so far:
1) Closet Space - create space in your closet by going through every piece of clothing. That means touching, looking at, and comparing every article in there. One of the major organization ideas that I discovered was to sort by size, not just color.
2) I went through every single pair of pants, skirts, shorts that I own. I donated the pants that were too big. Which meant getting rid of my favorite pair of work pants, but I had to face the fact that they were just too baggy. I took all of my current sizes and put them at the front.
3) I then put the next size down next, I even took a piece of paper and wrote what size they were to hang on the hanger. That way in the morning when I'm still half of sleep and running late there would be no guessing game of which black pant fit.
4) The rest of the pants, I packed away. They are packed in a plastic box with the size written on the outside and have are now being stored in the garage. My whole idea behind this was to free up space in my closet, cut back on the confusion in the early morning, and to encourage myself to be that size again. I may not be like most, but the thought of seeing this size I am not into is not pushing me to do better, but it is actually discouraging me.
5) Shirts. My dress shirts, casual shirts, and etc... were not a huge problem for me. Yes, I did go through and donate many that were too big or ones that I haven't worn in quite some time. However, my only tip for this section is color coordinate. I found that by sorting my clothes by color helped me to spice up my daily pieces. Instead of pulling from the front of the closet, which just so happens to be where you put the clothes from the laundry; I now have to separate everything out by color, meaning I have more ideas when getting dressed each morning.
I hope my weight loss closet tips have been helpful, please look for more tips along the way. I am working on "Dressing for your changing body," so look for that in the next couple of days.

I'm actually going to try this with my closet this weekend. It's in need of a major overhaul!
